Foto Friday Challenge: Post a picture or link of the absolute funniest t-shirt you can
Posted by: | CommentsI’m looking for inspiration here folks (that will be explained in a later post). Find that funny t-shirt and post a picture or a link. My personal favorite is the Left the house t-shirt @ SplitReason.com. Absolute hilarity.
Smash something on purpose
Posted by: | CommentsI am going to out on a limb and guess that everyone reading this has at some point in their life seen the movie Office Space. One of the highlights of the movie for me was the scene in which they stole the company fax machine and let out their anger upon it. Now I am in no way encouraging you to steal something from your office and smash it up, but there may be some merit in letting out your frustration on an inanimate object from time to time.
May lay into your pillow like a punching bag. Maybe smash a dish out of frustration. Throwing a TV off a roof is always fun (I know from experience). Today let go of that built up frustration on something you don’t care about before it builds up and you let it all out on someone you do. My personal favorite has always been taking a hockey stick to a large cardboard box until it was not recognizable.
For those of you a bit more extreme, simple smashing may not be enough…
That video was from the good old college days. Props to my friend Andy for assembling the masterpiece.
Watch the local news
Posted by: | CommentsI know, I know. It’s the internet era. There is really no reason for you spend time watching and waiting by your TV set for the news to come on when you can get anything you want at the click of a button instantly. But let’s be honest, is it really the same?
I’m not talking about the national news that gets plastered everywhere. If the President does something, I am sure I will hear about it. I’m talking about your local news. You know what I’m talking about. That small station that puts the heart warming piece about someone that did something fantastic in your local community. That’s what people don’t get enough of.
It’s good to have a sense of what’s going on in your community. Small town stations don’t have the resources to always get all of their clips and stories online regularly. The simple solution is to sit back and what the news on TV.
If that reason is not good enough, there is always the local eye candy. My friend Ken over at tuccioholic.com recently posted about “The Immensely Awesome” Megan Glaros, a local weather reporter. That’s good enough of a reason to watch for me.
Try It Tuesday: Make a Carrot Ocarina
Posted by: | CommentsIf you’ve ever played Zelda on Nintendo 64 then you have probably heard of an Ocarina…

If you haven’t it’s simply a flute like wind instrument. It’s such a small and simple instrument, you can actually make one out of a good sized carrot. Give it a try! Here’s how…
Movie Monday: Watch a movie that’s older than you
Posted by: | CommentsA lot of people don’t really appreciate some of the earlier movies out there. In the pre-digital era, a lot more time was spent on the storyline and acting than on explosions and realistic looking CGI. Take the time today to appreciate some of the older stuff. Here are some of my favorites that pre-date my 1983 birthday:
- Star Wars (1977)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
- 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
- The Sting (1973)
- Young Frankenstein (1974)
What will you be watching?
